AGENDA:
Agenda for the Feeder Canal Basin Water Quality Program Workshop
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE DISCUSSED:
To complement the federal Western Everglades Restoration Project (WERP), the South Florida Water Management District (District) is developing a Feeder Canal Basin Water Quality Program (Program) to identify regional and private projects in the West and North Feeder Canal Subbasins. This Program is intended to improve water quality exiting the Feeder Canal Basin and implement water storage, flow, and attenuation projects as necessary to mitigate environmentally harmful high water level events.
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss project ideas, knowledge of the watershed, and data gathering opportunities with stakeholders. One of the projects that will be investigated is the feasibility of the previously proposed South Boundary Canal extension, and additional ideas by stakeholders are welcome.
One or more members of the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District may attend this meeting. No Governing Board action will be taken.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in this workshop/meeting is asked to advise the agency at least seven days before the workshop/meeting by contacting: Molly Brown, District Clerk, at mobrown@sfwmd.gov. If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact the agency using the Florida Relay Service, 1(800)955-8771 (TDD) or 1(800)955-8770 (Voice).
