GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE DISCUSSED:
These are public workshops on revision of the Caloosahatchee River Minimum Flow and Minimum Water Level (MFL). The Technical Document to Support Re-evaluation of the Minimum Flow Criteria for the Caloosahatchee River Estuary dated January 30, 2018 (Technical Document) and other relevant documents are available on the District’s website at https://www.sfwmd.gov/our-work/mfl and on the District web board at https://sfwmd.websitetoolbox.com/ in the SFWMD MFL and Water Reservation Categories/MFL Reevaluation for the Caloosahatchee River Estuary forum. At the first public workshop on May 31, 2019, the District will discuss and consider potential supplementary statistical approaches and mathematical analyses using the original data contained in the Technical Document. Attendees are encouraged to share their statistical approaches and analyses using the original data in the Technical Document at this workshop. At the second public workshop on June 20, 2019, the District will provide the results of any additional analyses and evaluations that utilize the resource-based approach and receive feedback. The District will subsequently hold a public hearing, present the results of any additional analyses and evaluations based on the May 31 and June 20 workshops, and adopt a revised MFL for the Caloosahatchee River Estuary at the July 11, 2019 District Governing Board meeting.
