Three boat locks maintained by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will be temporarily closed in January to allow for routine maintenance and safety inspections.
- The S-310 Boat Lock on the south shore of Lake Okeechobee will be temporarily closed on Jan. 3-6, 2022.
- The S-65E Boat Lock on the Kissimmee River will be temporarily closed on Jan. 5-6, 2022.
- The Taylor Creek S-193 Boat Lock on Lake Okeechobee's north shore will be temporarily closed on Jan. 24-25, 2022.
Other boat locks maintained by the SFWMD will remain open during these days. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers also manages lock structures in South Florida. Anglers and boaters can access Lake Okeechobee and the rim canal from several access points around the lake. Visit FWC’s Boat Ramp Finder to find one near you.
