The South Florida Water Management District's Tidal Outlook for the forecast period of September 21, 2026 through September 27, 2026, is now available. Tidal water levels along South Florida's east coast and in the Florida Keys, may approach the NWS "Minor Flooding" threshold. Along Florida's southwest coast, tidal water levels may remain below the NWS "Minor Flooding" threshold.

In recognition of National Estuaries Week, we are highlighting the South Florida Water Management District’s continued efforts to protect and restore South Florida’s coastal watersheds.
DID YOU KNOW: There are many distinct estuaries within the District's 16-county region, including Florida Bay, Biscayne Bay, the Lake Worth Lagoon, the Indian River Lagoon, the Caloosahatchee and the St. Lucie estuaries, to name a few.

The S-193 Boat Lock at Taylor Creek in Okeechobee County will re-open this weekend. The boat lock will be open on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Moving forward, the boat lock will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends but will remain closed on weekdays (Mondays-Fridays) until further notice.
