West Palm Beach, FL – The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will be hosting a public scoping meeting on the Everglades Agricultural Area Storage Reservoir project at 9 a.m. this Thursday at District headquarters in West Palm Beach.
This is the second public scoping meeting held by the District this week regarding the reservoir project. At the first meeting, held Monday at John Boy Auditorium in Clewiston, interested parties attended to offer input on the project. SFWMD staff will present identical information during Thursday's scoping meeting.
The SFWMD presentation to the public will define the purpose and need for the southern reservoir, highlight the project's schedule, as well as solicit feedback from interested parties and stakeholders. These meetings are part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. The NEPA process provides opportunity for the public to provide input related to the EAA Storage Reservoir project.
Thursday's public scoping meeting will also be webcast live on SFWMD's website at www.sfwmd.gov.
