Orlando, FL – The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board will come to Orange County when it meets on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
"I am pleased to host this first Governing Board travel meeting for 2018," said SFWMD Governing Board Chairman and Orlando-area attorney Dan O'Keefe. "This Board values these travel opportunities because it gives all residents living in each region of the 16 counties represented the chance to provide input toward the decisions that shape South Florida's water policy. I invite all residents in Orange, Osceola and Polk counties and other northern areas of the District to come out and participate in this meeting."
The agenda will include updates on ongoing efforts benefitting families, businesses and the environment in Orange County and the northern parts of the District, including SFWMD's efforts to acquire and preserve land in the Shingle Creek area that serves as the headwaters for Florida's Everglades.
