In honor of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the women of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) who help safeguard and restore South Florida's water resources and ecosystems, protect communities from flooding, and meet the region's water needs. Did you know SFWMD’s talented and diverse staff are responsible for some of the largest and most complex environmental restoration and water quality improvement projects in the world?
Women work throughout the District’s 16-county region to lead environmental restoration efforts, manage public lands, conduct research and planning, and so much more. From scientists and engineers, to project managers and section leaders, to financial analysts and administrative staff, the women of the SFWMD are working every day to advance the District's mission for the people and the environment of South Florida.
Many women at the SFWMD have dedicated their careers to environmental progress. These hardworking heroes of the environmental community are the forefront of the State of Florida's historic momentum when it comes to Everglades restoration and improving water quality. The SFWMD has the best and the brightest women who continue to make a difference in our local communities and we are proud to celebrate their important contributions to protecting America's Everglades and supporting the ecological health of South Florida's natural resources.
