Join the South Florida Water Management District for the first public meeting about the 2026 Upper East Coast (UEC) Water Supply Plan Update. The plan will assess current and projected water needs in the UEC Water Supply Planning Area through 2050. The planning area includes all of Martin and St. Lucie counties, and the northern portion of Okeechobee County.

Today, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) rescinded the Water Shortage Warning issued on Feb. 5, 2026 for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. Recent rainfall in that area coupled with conservation efforts by water users and utilities helped the Biscayne aquifer rebound to a safe level.
