GLADES COUNTY, Fla. - The Buckhead Ridge S-127 Boat Lock on Lake Okeechobee's North Shore will temporarily close to navigation on Tuesday, October 18 and Wednesday, October 19, 2022 for maintenance. The boat lock is expected to re-open on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board Chairman Chauncey Goss and Executive Director Drew Bartlett provided an update this afternoon from the SFWMD’s Emergency Operations Center on the District’s ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Ian.
District Actions
SFWMD-managed lands in Monroe, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Okeechobee, Highlands, Glades and Charlotte counties are now open. SFWMD-managed lands in Hendry, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties re-opened on October 3.
SFWMD-managed lands in Lee and Collier counties remain closed for public access until further notice. SFWMD will continue to monitor and evaluate the conditions of the lands that remain closed and will re-open them as soon as possible.
