The South Florida Water Management District's Tidal Outlook for the forecast period of August 10, 2026 through August 16, 2026, is now available. Tidal water levels along South Florida's east and west coasts may remain below the National Weather Service (NWS) "Minor Flooding" threshold. In the Florida Keys, tidal water levels may approach the NWS "Minor Flooding" threshold.
Today, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and partners announced the results and winners of the 2026 Florida Python Challenge™, an event intended to raise awareness about invasive species while engaging the public in Everglades conservation through removal of invasive Burmese pythons.
